Can I contact the boat directly?

Where do we fish?

White Cap Charters fishes all over Cape Cod Bay, Massachusetts Bay, and the New England Coast. Visit our Were We Fish page to learn more.

How long does it take to get there?

We steam for 1 hour to 1 - 1/2 hours to the fishing grounds.

How long do we fish for?

Flexible, usually first light to early afternoon totaling 4 to 7 hours of total fishing steaming and post catch prep depending on the package you select.

Do I need to bring gear?

All tackle and bait provided. Please see What to Bring for more specifics on personal clothing and gear needs.

How do I get to the boat?

Airport: Marshfield (small plane), Commercial-Logan, Boston, or Providence in RI From the airport to the boat—see Directions to White Cap on our Trip Planning page.

When is the fishing season?

May-October

What kind of fishing can we do?

Fly fishing, light-spinning, trolling, chumming and harpoon.

Do I have to bring my own fishing equipment?

No. All tackle and equipment provided.

What happens if I loose the fishing rod?

Rates do not include loss of rod/reel or damage to equipment due to client loss or negligence. The customer will be responsible for any loss or damage incurred.

What do we fish for? What kind of gamefish are available?

What is included in the price?

Boat, guide, equipment, tackle, baits and a quality experience.

Suggested Tip for Mate:

10-15% of the cost of the charter for attention to detail and outstanding service.

SHIP BOARD RULES & CHARTER POLICIES

The Captain is the Sole Authority aboard the White Cap.

At sea leadership is very important for the comfort of passengers and the safe running of a vessel while at sea. Social input is always welcome. The captain will be in command at all times of the vessel. What the captain says, happens. Enjoy your voyage and be sure to sign the guest book!

Restricted Items (What Not To Bring):

Not allowed on board: Illegal substances (non prescription drugs & illicit drugs) or weapons of any kind are to be brought aboard the boat. Violators will be returned to the dock immediately and the trip cancelled without refund.

DEPOSITS:

Booking Deposit required to hold a date & receipt of deposit monies acknowledges POLICY acceptance.

50% Deposit with reservation.

50% Deposit shall be due/payable at time of sailing.

Cancellation Policy:

Day of sailing 25% refundable
Within 3 days of sailing 50% of deposit is refundable.
Within 7 days of sailing, 100% refundable

CHECKS:

There will be a $25.00 service charge for any checks returned by the bank.

CATCH POLICY (Federal and State Guidelines):

If you wish, you may keep all fish you catch as long as they are legal within Federal and Massachusetts State Bag Limit regulations and the Federal Tuna regulations for fish UP TO 72".

Tuna:

Possession limit 2. Must be 27” or longer

Blue Fin Tuna:

Recreational bluefin tuna (BFT) regulations have been tightened for 2008 to keep catches within the available angling subquota. The daily vessel/trip retention limit will be one school BFT (27 to less than 47 inches) and one large school/small medium BFT (47 to less than 73 inches). Also, vessels fishing under the Angling category may retain 1 large medium/giant BFT (73 inches or greater) per vessel per year.

GIANT Blue Fin Tuna: (73" and longer):

Due to Federal Permit Regulations, all Blue Fin Tuna 73" and larger that are caught become property of White Cap Charters, LLC and it's captain who are then required to sell it on the open market.

The Giant Blue Fin Tuna is prized internationally for the quality of it's meat and fat content and can be extremely valuable depending on foreign demand. As a thank you, White Cap Charters will mail you a check for 25% of the sale price minus expenses (fuel, insurance, fees, crew, etc.)

The head and tail can be prepared for the party to keep. (Makes a great fish mount trophy, and is great sushi meat).

Yellowfin, Bigeye, Skipjack & Albacore:

The recreational yellowfin tuna daily retention limit is three yellowfin/person. The minimum size for yellowfin and bigeye tuna is 27 inches. There are no recreational limits for bigeye, skipjack or albacore tunas.

Bluefish:

Limit of 10 fish per boat.

Striped Bass:

Limit of 2 per person. Must be 28" or longer.

Mako and Blue Sharks:

Occasionally Mako and blue sharks will take a stab at our live or chunk baits.  We encourage you to angle them to the boat but we will catch and release. We believe sharks have been unnecessarily over fished and should be gently released after you get a great photo with one.

WEATHER POLICY:

Your safety and enjoyment at sea is our prime area of focus and responsibility. Should poor weather be forecasted or occur during your charter period, the Captain reserves the right to cancel and/or postpone a sailing for the safety of the passengers and crew. Deposits are 100% refundable in this instance.

If the charter has commenced and poor weather eventually rolls in, a mutually acceptable pro rated cost adjustment share of the total fee will be charged, with a minimum fee of $250.
